About the Product:

The Wheel of Life is the first Buddhist symbol ever to exist. The Wheel of Life Thangka depicts the samsaric cycle of existence in an intricate mandala art form. Each layer of the painting holds a significant meaning. The hub of the Wheel depicts three poisonous emotions: desire, attachment, and anger. The second layer depicts Karma; the white region represents good Karma, while the black region shows bad Karma stemming from poisonous emotions. Then comes the third layer, where you can witness the six realms of existence: God’s Realm, Demi-God’s realm, Human Realm, Hungry Ghosts Realm, Animal Realm, and Hell Realm. The kind of Karma of the soul governs existence in these realms. Then comes the outermost layer; you will find 12 parts in this circle. Each part represents the links of dependent origin. Then, you can see a depiction of lord buddha pointing towards the moon outside the Samsaric Wheel. This is indicative of his enlightened state and his guidance. The entire Wheel is in the grasp of a ferocious creature, depicting that the entire existence is momentary. Below the Wheel, you can find the beings in the “bardo” state. This is the transition phase between birth and death. The entire wheel of life thangka painting symbolizes the cycle of existence and the liberated state beyond it.
